Artist Spotlight: Martin Stranka

Martin Stranka is a young Czech photographer that has caught many people’s eye in recent years, and is one of my absolute favorite photographers.  His art style definitely leans to a surreal, painterly, processed look, but there’s no denying the beauty in his work.  Every image he creates screams young, hip, and fresh.  A short bio from his own website:

I Found The Silence
All Rights Reserved by Martin Stranka

“Martin Stranka is a self-taught professional photographer, born on April 13, 1984 in Czech Republic. Martin’s distinctive vision of photography etched as a unique space located in a balance and serenity, while his sophisticated and rewarding images exists in that narrow space of a few seconds between dreaming and awakening. During the last two years Martin has gathered over 30 remarkable international photography awards, from different competitions including Professional Photographer of the Year, Emerging Talent Award in Nikon International Photo Contest, Sony World Photography Awards, EISA Photo Maestro or International Photo Awards and Digital Photographer of the Year both two times in a row.”

That’s alot of accomplishments for a photographer under 30, and once you view his portfolio, you can see how well deserved they are.  The handling of light, the appearance of grain, and seemingly impossible still life captures all draw you in and keep you in the moment for as long as possible.

Of course Martin’s work is available on Facebook, Twitter and 500px, but his main website can be viewed at
